Vampires, Witches, and Wolves.. OH MY!

2 Peter 1:5-7

“But also for this reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love.”

We are back! Yeah! We had such a good time! Thank you all for commenting while I was gone it gave me something to read while I was in the airport all stinkin day on Sunday.
By the time we got back on Sunday night it was getting kind of late and none of us (Kelly, Kurt, Klee and I) had really eaten anything since we were in an airport all day. We decided to take advantage of Klee’s discount at chili’s and went there for dinner. I could not tell you the last time I had chili’s! I was just as good as I remembered! After dinner we went to redbox and rented Alice in Wonderland. When we got to K’s house though there was an episode of Jimmy Kimmel on and he was featuring the Twilight cast. Which thankfully K had the remote and she wouldn’t change it. After watching that I have decided Peter Facinelli(carlisle cullen) is my favorite in real life.

Then we started watching The Gates. Holy COW. I should have just walked away.. But I couldn’t it was like a train wreck you want to look away, but you can’t. You just keep looking! There were Vampires, Witches, and Wolves.. I need to tell Jlo about it, so up her ally! So now if I can some how get the uverse app to record the show without Kelly knowing it will be a perfect summer!

Monday we headed home and I was so excited to see my baby!! Thanks again to the Sisk Family & the Garner Family who had joint custody while we were gone! You saved us about 275 in boarding fees!

When we go home our Crepe Myrtles were blooming and they looked so pretty, and since I don’t have a bebe to pose in front of them.. I used my bebe..
I think he was annoyed at me here!

I am going to keep the vaca talk to a minimum, but here is our first night is San Juan.
We were all so hungry and wanted some "local flavor" so we had the cab driver recommend us to this fabulous restaurant.  I got the stuffed eggplant and mofongo which had been on the travel channel before so I figured why not!. I am so glad I did! It was amazing!

Mofongo is on the right
"Mofongo is a plantain-based dish from Puerto Rico. Mofongo is generally made from fried green plantains (although fried yuca or breadfruit are possible) which is mashed together with broth, garlic, olive oil, and pork cracklings or bits of bacon. It is often filled with vegetables, chicken, crab, shrimp, or beef and is often served with fried meat and chicken broth soup.Mofongo relleno is mofongo stuffed with stewed beef, chicken or seafood, with stewed sauce poured over."
Kelly got a crawfish Mofongo bowl..

After dinner we headed back at went to bed. I read The Carrie Diaries on the plane and finished it that night.. It was really really good. I recommend it for SITC lovers. It was a very easy read.

The next morning the boys played golf. K, Julie, and I went to the beach. We only lasted about an hour out there before we had to head in for the shade. We had an amazing breakfast overlooking the ocean. They had this really cool machine that would take the fresh oranges and squeeze them right in to your cup. I loved it! Once the boys got back we headed for the boat. Boarding the ship is just one big cluster.
Here was our stateroom.
not nearly as small as I thought it was going to be.

Bobby & Julie got a balcony. I know people tell you you don't need one, but to us it was totally worth it to have at least one room have one. It was so pretty out there and we were able to get some amazing views!
Dinner the first night I was feeling adventurous and I tired Talapia. Surprising I didn't hate it! I may even try it again, I liked how it didn't taste fishy.

I'll have more tomorrow, but sadly we didn't take many pictures!

Sari Sari Princess

Yesterday we were in Dominica. We were doing a river/ waterfall hike through Sari Sari Falls.

Then Today we are in Barbados! Today in Barbados we don't have anything planed so I am hoping for some sun time!!

I bought some 30 & 15 spf. One bottle of each. I hope that will be enough for the week..

My ultra thought provoking question of the day is:

Best Name. What is the best name you have ever heard? Boy, Girl, Dog, or Cat? What have you got for me?

Also today is the release of Eclipse! I am kind of excited about seeing this movie. I read all of them, but Eclipse was my favorite. This will be something for me to look forward to when I come home!

Which leads me to another question.. Do you have a favorite book? One that you could read over and over again? Or maybe one that you just loved when you read it.. you recommend it to anyone when they ask you a good book?

ME? Francine River Redeeming Love... Also, a big fan of PS I love you. The book not the piss poor excuse for a movie!

Sew many books?

Show us your life today was favorite books...

I read a lot so It was a very hard to pick just a few.
First off when I was younger I was obsessed with,
The BabySitters Club
Girl Talk

and Sweet Valley High

When the bookfair would come to school it was like Christmas. I would beg and plead and throw myself on the ground and declare that I would just DIE if I didn't get the books that I wanted! Needless to say when we cleaned out my storage unit of childhood memories there was a ton of boxes of nothing but books!
Now my favorites include,
Any and everything Nora Roberts
Any and everything James Patterson.. with a emphasis on the Women't Murder Club series

Jen Lanchaster--she is flipping hilarous

Twilight series.. I am guilty of loving them-don't judge

Donald Miller--Blue Like Jazz

Cecilia Ahren- P.S. I Love you & Rosie Dunn

Francine Rivers Redeaming love--AMAZING!!

Allison Winn Scotch--Time of my Life

Next up I had our sewing class last night.. I think I have caught the sewing bug.

I am very thankful for JLO's friend Jamia. Starting off she was like well... how far along are you ladies? She then looked down at Jenni's machine--still the the Styrofoam that it came packaged in and laughed.. So, we started from the beginning!

After threading the bobbin (if i spelled it wrong-sorry) and then treading the needle we started with something simple. Burp Cloths.

This is Jenni McCarthy's sewing kit.. with NADA in it!

We then had to cut out our fabric.. i couldn't help but laugh out loud at how clueless JWOW and I were. She actually had to give us some instruction on how to measure & cute the fabric properly. Jenni from the block was getting a little over whelmed.
This cool stuff was all Jamia's

very focused!
The rest of it was pretty easy.. and by easy I mean I understood the concept, but will really have to work super had to sew in a straight line.

My finished product...

Here is what Jamia made...
You can buy stuff from her.. one of these days.. I am going to be a stay at home mom and make cute stuff like this..

I came home and showed hubs what I had made.. first thing out of his mouth was when can you make me a backpack? Or maybe a blanket?

Then after he studied my burp cloth he said.. when will you be good enough to sell these?
Ahhh my husband the entrepreneur.

Today OA&L and I spent our lunch hour at Hobby Lobby. We both walked around with this star-crazed look on out face with glassy eyes. We both got it in to our heads that we might as well just call each other Martha 1 and Martha 2 cause we are THAT good of sewers now. We also developed the visions of grandure and decided we could make all these elaborate projects... So after walking around the aisles trying to decide what all we were going to make, we finally figured that we might as well make the same project since we could combine forces and make the decisions together! We decided to make taggies.. we heard they were easy, and hey we are martha one and martha two so anything is possible with us sewing machines..

30 bucks later we have a project, only problem?

We have all types of fabric with no tools to make it!
Rotary Cutter recomendations anyone?

*LAST THING*
Well she is ahving a give-a-way and I wanna win, so go enter and if you win.. give it to me??

story time

So.. we don't have cable. Not cause we are some freaks that don't believe in it, or only wear clothes made of hemp.. but because for about 6months before we bought our first house, that was all we did. We watched tv every night, if by some strange chance there was not a show on that night of the week for us to watch, we found one. CSI, Law and Order (svu is still my FAV) criminal minds, the mentalist, grey's anatomy, bachlorette, NCIS, Jon & Kate plus 8, food network, my first place, house hunters, should i continue??? Which as i am sure you can see is a lot! Not to mention football season-we watched them all college and pro.
When we got the house in Feb it was a foreclosure and not in bad shape, but not where we wanted it to be.. so we decided that we wouldn't get cable until football season. Well we have been working on stuff, but now Kelly and i have become frequent users at the library!
I should also mention i have ADHD.. Dr told me i was the worst case he had seen in a female in a long time--ouch! Well I don't take meds for it.. again not cause i am some crazy person and believe in the natural healing power of herbs and grass.. but because they changed who i was when i was on them... so my husband and the people that i love get the same person they have always loved.. people at work.. sorry-deal with it.
Anyway with this i have like 5 books going at a time.. currently on the nightstand is:
*Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets-I know i am over the age of 11, but everyone at work & church said how good they were so, i am reading them
*Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin- so far so good, just finished Love the one you are with.. it made me so mad i threw it across the room-only once cause it is a library book..
*Nora Roberts-Vision in white-WOW it was soo good i love her! I can read her books in a day or two
*In her shoes by Jennifer Weiner
*The bible
*Power of a Praying Wife-WOW i need this one a lot.. i may need a new copy soon
*2 running magazines one from July and now August
It makes my head hurt just thinking about it, and in all honesty if they would have had the new James Patterson book in.. i would have that on the nightstand too!!
